Small team.
Long horizons.

How Lx8 Labs is run.

The studio.

Lx8 Labs is a one-person studio with a long memory. Founded in Brazil in 2013 and moved to Berlin in 2020, it sits in the lineage of small research-and-engineering institutions that take the long route — the original Bell Labs, the early Xerox PARC, the kind of place that publishes papers and ships products from the same desk.

Engagements are fixed-scope and outcome-priced, never retainers. The studio publishes research in the open, builds tools to scratch its own itch — Tupã IDE, aimem — and brings in trusted specialists when a project asks for them.

It is intentionally small. It will stay that way.

Working with others.

Specialists, per engagement.

When a project genuinely needs a hand we trust — Rust systems work, front-end deep-dives, ML infra at a scale beyond a single person — the studio brings in a vetted specialist for that engagement and pays them properly. Anyone we work with is a known quantity, not a marketplace hire.

Hiring, in short.

Lx8 Labs is not currently hiring full-time. Open to fixed-scope subcontract work in Rust systems, front-end (Three.js / Solid / native), and ML/inference infra. Get in touch if that's you.
